<div>Man we had a great trip on HRL today with Jeff Covington and crew. The fish i found on Thursday were still there and more than willing to play along  and go for a Lil boat ride. Tight Lines and steady reeling today brought in 20 catfish over the rails had a few that pulled back and missed some tanks. <div>Been a minute since I have been able to get on the water. My last day out was minimal water movement and water temps in the 80's fast forward to Today after lots of water moving through I saw Temps at 67.3 in the back of 2nd creek at 5am. Main lake 75, 77.6 when we left. Key in on bait fish movement this time of year and you can have some great days. We used Gizzard shad and Carp for bait today. ( Bait was 3ft-18ft l) in the the long coves inside the bigger creeks.  I had my good Buddy Adam out with me today, been years in the making!!  It was worth the wait We put 27 nice catfish over the rails and left a few. That did not make the ride to the boat. Almost prime time just need some more colder days!!</div>

9-25<div><br></div><div>Met up with Sean Starling today to chase some Catfish and that's what we did. Chased all over the lake again. We finally found some and Dialed in the bite from 14-21ft. Shallower or deeper they would not bite( for us) ended the day with 14fish no monsters today but some good ones. Water still 78 once we get low 70s things should really pick up.</div>

<div>This lake will make you work from one day to the next. Fridays trip was shallow and today we probably covered 8-10 miles to put 15 fish in the boat but they were quality fish. Water temps pushed back into the 80's 🥵🥵🥵 so everything was out of whack today. Bait was 4ft yesterday and pushed out to 15ft lake levels dropped 1.5ft and no water moving until after lunch. No problem we will work hard to put fish in the boat for you!!</div><div>Piscifun</div>

<div>Man we had a great day on the water today I had "Squirrel " and crew on the boat. He had one goal to get his fiance on some big fish prior today 5lb channel cat was it.  Things changed up from yesterday go figure, we bounced from spot to spot covering a ton of water and finally found some fish. We had 13 fish in the boat by 2:00 feeling good about the spot we found I asked of they wanted to give it one more hour and BAM biggest fish of the day 32lbs hits and she did a great job getting that big dude to the boat only for it to come unhooked at the boat, but I was ready with the net and one scoop we were able to land him. Fishing is a fun game, just goes to show you gotta keep moving to find active fish. It paid off today these folks were happy and that's all that matters!!</div>

<div>Man it felt good in the cool air this morning! I had a crew all the way from Oregon today, talk about pressure. We left out of Tamarac at 5:30 this morning and only 1 of the 4 of these dudes had ever caught a catfish. We caught a total of 13 fish today with 3 decent flatheads and they wanted some eaters so we switched gears and made it happen!!  That Moon, high water, cold front etc had them more scattered than waffle house hashbrowns, but we got it done. Thanks again fellas for hanging out with me today.</div>

<div>Had Dustin Newell  and crew out with me today. Started out at 3am getting bait which was super easy. 8ft-18ft was best Gizzard shad and white Perch were bait.  Stop number one already had me realizing we were gonna have to cover some ground and find feeding fish today. We ended the day with 10 fish in the boat a handful of Take downs we wish would have hooked up, but that's why we go fishing!! Fishing the last month or so has not been bad, looking forward to fall. <div>Got to spend the day with one of my kids and his buddies. We started the day at 3am getting bait and slow ride to the spot dodging trees this morning. Set up shop in one spot today and never left boated close to 40 fish today most of them respectable size. Man I love this place after a lot of rain!! PB's broken several times for these guys today!!</div>

Man some days the fish gods are on your side and some days they challenge you to put in the effort to have a great day. I met Blake and Sean Starling for a daytime trip yesterday. Sean wanted to help catch bait and learn what I did so they met me at 4am to help toss the net, he did a great job,  we set out after bait( shad and perch) to fish a pattern that had been producing over the last several trips. We'll things changed and we covered a lot of water we managed 8 fish with a mix of Flats, Blues and Channels, toward the end of our trip we hooked into a tank, Sean caught that boy for a few minutes and bam line got cut and he was gone. That fish had the rod pegged..man heartbreak.  Thanks for coming fellas nice to meet you all!!<div><br></div><div>This weather this week should get these fish fired up!! Man today ( for the most part) was as about as great a trip as you could ask for. Max and his family were in from Ohio staying on the Lake. We met at 5:30 at the Tamarac. Max, his son and his two boys put a hurting on the fish today, we stopped counting at 40. For a minute I thought are trip was gonna be cut short after a jab to my foot by Mr Blue Cat,  stopped the bleeding, wrapped that bad boy up and we kept Fishing!! We caught in every spot we fished in spite of my Trolling Motor batteries dying( bad lithium charger). I was determined to show these guys a good time even with the hurdles!! We sent all out big fish back to be caught another day and sent Max and crew home with some for a few fish fries!!<div><br></div><div>Bait was shad/perch in 12ft or less.</div><div><br></div><div>Max and crew thanks for an awesome day of fishing and being patient at times!!</div>

<div>Man we had to work for the fish today!! The fish I caught Sunday and Monday where still there, but they left there appetite somewhere else on the Lake. I had Brian and Timmy on the boat today and was not about to zero out We fished from Swearing to Panther creek and finally zeroed in on some fish in 20ft of water that were hungry. We caught 8 fish today and one picture worthy fish. Just goes to show fishing HRL can be some of the most challenging fisheries there is but, if you keep tweeking your approach and pay attention to what's going on eventually you will find some feeding fish. BTW I'm ready for the Fall!!</div>

<div>Man I had the pleasure of taking Garrett his son G and his father out today. Man we had a blast despite the warm day we had a steady breeze and only saw 8 boats until 11am!!.</div><div><br></div><div>G is natural at fishing they primarily bass fish up north, but after today hopefully we made a catman out of this dude!!&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>We focused on some bigger fish to start the day and they decided to cooperate G landed several nice blues today all Females again, man they are eating good right now.</div><div><br></div><div>They wanted some eaters so we switched gears and targeted some channel cats to finish out our trip, that bite was pretty consistent today and sent this young man home with some work to do.</div><div><br></div><div>Lastly G heard me talk about bait for a trip tomorrow so his Dad let him tag along and fill the cooler with some good perch.</div><div><br></div><div>We will be back out tomorrow to find some more catfish.</div><div><br></div><div>Tight Lines MG</div>

<div>Did a little scouting in shallow water for an up comming trip. The flatheads were being pretty active.</div>

<div>Fishing heavy rain, we caught 30 fishing using live bait and cut bait, shad and crappie. Had a great day catching a mix bag of Blues, Channels and Flatheads.</div>

<div>Had a great Saturday. Fish are still actively feeding getting ready for the spawn. Fish are still being caught over most of the lake. The bigger fish bite has slowed down, as they are usually the first to start spawing. We stayed on the move with the bite being pretty consistent from 6am until 11am. Bait was shad, perch, crappie, and bream. Ended our day with 18 total fish a mix of Blues and Channel cats.</div><div><br></div>

Started the day fishing up in the river which yielded some nice fish and plenty of action for us to keep busy. We bounced around the river and the upper reaches of the lake to stay on the hungry fish, the spawn is starting to get close water temp are rising and the Big fish are starting to focus on there yearly spawn. The bite for mid size fish will keep you busy from now until early July when we get into the post spawn fish.  Thanks for stoping buy and have a great day. 

High Rock Lake NC fishing report

pring break started for the kids this week, so what better way to spend the day than chasing catfish on High Rock lake!! Fish have remained consistent on flats adjacent to deeper water today we anchored with really good success and finished the day with 15 blue cats and some smaller channel cats. Live and cut gizzard shad did the trick today. Fishing is only gonna keep getting better before the spawn. We have dates open in April and May if you want to get in on the action. Bait for us today was 12-15ft before daylight in Duck Cove.

On a side note if anybody is looking for a great economical bait tank check out the tank from Striper Soup Bait & Tackle  great compact unit!!

Fishing continues to improve it will only get better between now and June.Fish of all species are on the move and the catfish are following. Had a great day in the rain caught 24 catfish. 34 big fish 28, 28 a bunch in the 20s and teens.  

North Carolina Catfish Fishing Report

Conditions continue to look like a yo yo, Warm ,cold, wet, dry high pressure low pressure,sounds like spring lol. Got out yesterday and everything had moved on me from last week.  Took a few minutes to get a pattern together and tweak it along the way, but managed a good trip with a total of 17 fish, A mix of Blues, Flatheads, and channels. Includes were a 33lb Blue, 25lb flathead, and a 20lb flat head.

I Had an opening to take two of my  boys out for some catfishing. we found plenty of fish willing to keep them busy today! Water temps are almost perfect!  Caught 18 Catfish today mix of Blues and channels.


Had a half day trip for a father and son outing, we had really thick fog to start the morning with water temps in the low 50's the fish have been on the move I had an idea of where they might be and it paid off, with steady reeling most of the day. The smiles and laughter did it for me. What a great day. God bless!!
